Publishing is a strange business and doesn't always make sense. I have this beautiful cover, an editor, edits on their way, but no release date, yet. Not a big deal, just kind of nerve racking. I should have a date by the end of June, or early July. And from what I understand with e-publishing, the date will be pretty soon. Probably by the end of this year, so that is good.
I have a couple of other things going on with this publisher, but don't have a lot of information about when, so, when I do, I'll be posting. Lots of good stuff going on.
However, life always enjoys throwing me a curve ball, or two, or three. So, when I get my edits in a few weeks, I'll have time to do them because I'll be stuck in bed recovering from surgery that the docs say will take 4-6 weeks to recover from completely. Oh joy. And they won't even let me drive for two weeks! That is going to suck. I like driving. And I have kids who need to be driven like everywhere. Sigh. And it's summer. The lake. Did I mention the lake? I want to be at the lake. I get a lot of writing done at the lake.
Ok. So, I really want to focus on what the process is like for e-publishing which is a growing aspect of publishing, but I think is very different from the print world. I can't be sure since I don't (yet) have a print deal, but lets hope my trip to NYC this summer for Thrillerfest will stir some interest in my psychological thriller books. That is off topic.
Anyway, the next few months will be about what happens during the editing process for an e-book. So, I might be quiet for a little while as I try and get this family ready for me being unable to do anything. Right. Like this family will survive!
